While many religions make a clear distinction between the body and the soul, witchcraft is a little different. In many witchcraft practices the body is seen as a sacred vessel for the spirit. From this point of view we have always existed as spirit, but become embodied when we are born. We live our lives on this earthly plane before returning to spirit.
