Whenever I am starting a new project, goal or intention I like to do the following ritual to open to the Divine source. This simple creativity magic ritual can help us access information that is beyond the logical mind as well as help us gain clarity on what we want to do and the best ways to go about the task.

Opening to Divine Creative Source Ritual

The following creativity magic ritual can be adapted to your needs and beliefs. For example, if you prefer not to use incense you can a natural room spray to cleanse your space. Or you can use sound such as ringing a bell or clapping your hands. 

What you need

A quiet and comfortable space to work
White candle or LED candle (representing purity and divine energy)
Clear quartz crystal (for clarity and amplifying energy)
Incense (such as frankincense or sandalwood)
A small bowl of water
An item representing your creative tools (e.g., a paintbrush, pen, or musical instrument)
A notebook and pen
Soft instrumental or meditative music (optional)

What to do

Find a quiet and comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed. Set up a small altar with the white candle, clear quartz crystal, incense, bowl of water and your creative tools. Light the incense to purify your space.  

Take a few deep breaths to centre yourself, focusing on letting go of any tension or distractions.

Now light the white candle, representing the divine source of creativity. As you do so, say aloud or in your mind:

“I open myself to the divine creative source,
